Glass Production, Processing and Performance provides an introduction to the different types of glasses that are available, such as clear, tinted and low-iron. Significant emphasis is placed on coated glasses, including the common types of low-e application processes and the consequent impact on energy and environmental performance. The different types of flat glass processing and fabrication methods, as well as thermal breakage, wind load, sound attenuation and size limitations as they relate to specifying glass, are also covered.

How Low-E Coatings Improve Building Performance provides in-depth information about the solar energy spectrum and common glass performance measures, the manufacturing processes for passive and solar control low-e coatings and how these coatings impact glass performance and improve energy efficiency. Spectrally selective glazings are also discussed.
