Vitro Architectural Glass to sponsor Living Product Expo 2018

Low-e glass products support conference’s message of sustainability, green manufacturing

PITTSBURGH, September 3, 2018 — Vitro Architectural Glass (formerly PPG Glass) announced that it is a sponsor of Living Product Expo 2018, an industry gathering of more than 700 leaders in sustainable design, healthy materials, green design, and health and wellness. Hosted by the International Living Future Institute (ILFI), the fourth annual conference will be held at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh, Sept. 11-13.

Bringing together the design, manufacturing and corporate social responsibility (CSR) communities, the expo offers a variety of industry-focused sessions for interior designers, manufacturers, architects and sustainability leaders.

The ILFI is known worldwide for administering the Living Building Challenge (LBC), a rigorous green building certification program that requires buildings to comply with 20 imperatives in seven building performance categories, including place, energy, water, health and happiness, materials, equity and beauty.

Vitro Glass was the first founding sponsor of the Living Product Hub, established by the ILFI and Pittsburgh-based Green Building Alliance (GBA) to accelerate the development of regenerative buildings and manufacturing. Launched in Pittsburgh in April 2017, the hub serves as a center of education and outreach, connecting innovative buildings, communities and projects to the ILFI’s global network. It is the first of four such planned centers in the United States.

Robert Struble, manager, brand and communications, Vitro Architectural Glass, said Vitro Glass’ sponsorship of the Living Product Expo aligns with the company’s commitment to green building innovation. “Vitro Glass is honored to support the Living Product Expo and proud of the company’s association with the ILFI and GBA,” he explained. “Our environmentally advanced low-emissivity glass products are integral to the energy-saving performance of many globally recognized green buildings, and we continue to test and develop even more advanced technologies to promote sustainability.”

Vitro Glass products such as Solarban®, Sungate® and Starphire Ultra-Clear® glasses are featured on Pittsburgh’s most globally recognized green buildings, including the David L. Lawrence Convention Center, the world’s first green convention center; PPG Paints Arena, one of the country’s first LEED®-certified professional hockey arenas; and The Tower at PNC Plaza, opened in 2015 as the world’s greenest office tower.

This year’s expo will feature walking tours of local environmental hubs, cutting-edge design workshops and lectures across a range of eco-conscious topics.
