The Glass Manufacturing Industry Council (GMIC) is a non-profit trade association representing the interests of the glass manufacturing industry. GMIC bridges all segments of glass manufacturing, including float glass, container, fiber and specialty glass.

The American Ceramic Society (ACS) is the parent company of GMIC. ACS is one of the most trusted sources of ceramic materials and applications knowledge. ACS aims to advance the study, understanding and use of ceramics and related materials for the benefit of its members and society.

The International Commission on Glass (ICG) is a non-profit that promotes cooperation between glass experts through its Technical Committees and by assisting in the organization of conferences.

ICG worked with senior figures from the industry and academia to propose that 2022 be considered the UN International Year of Glass. Formal UN approval was given in May 2021.

Cradle to Cradle Certified® (C2C) is a globally recognized measure of safer, more sustainable products made for the circular economy. In 2008, Vitro Architectural Glass became the first U.S. glass manufacturer to have its entire collection of architectural glass products recognized by the Cradle to Cradle Certified Products Program.

Today, Vitro Glass’s product selection is Cradle to Cradle Bronze certified; subcategory certification levels, valid through April 23, 2022, are below. The Material Health Certificate uses the material health assessment methodology of the Cradle to Cradle Certified Product Standard.
