Vitro Glass to sponsor Greenbuild Mexico 2018

More than 500 green building experts expected to attend international sustainability conference

PITTSBURGH, June 5, 2018 — Vitro Architectural Glass announced that it is a Platinum Sponsor of Greenbuild Mexico 2018, reported to be the world’s largest conference for the green building community. The event will be held June 19-21 at the Camino Real Polanco Mexico, Mexico City.

Billed as the flagship event for sustainability professionals, Greenbuild Mexico will bring together more than 500 leaders, experts and frontline practitioners from around the world to address issues such as air quality, human health, energy use and global climate change.

Guillermo Martinez, manager of general marketing for architectural glass operations in Mexico, Vitro Architectural Glass, said the company’s legacy of environmental stewardship aligns closely with the conference’s mission. “Vitro Glass’ rich history of innovation in glass sustainability, such as our low-e and ultra-clear glass technologies, along with the distinction of being the first architectural glass manufacturer in North America to publish third-party-verified Environmental Product Declarations for our flat glass and processed glass products, reinforces our commitment to sustainable principles,” he explained. “Greenbuild Mexico is an important forum for advancing the ideals of the green building community.”

The conference, which is being held in Mexico for the first time, will feature educational sessions (available in both English and Spanish) on the latest green building and LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) research. Specific topics include materials, resilience, and health and well-being. Session attendees are eligible to earn continuing education hours.

Greenbuild Mexico is the second of five Greenbuild events scheduled for 2018. Future conferences will be held in Chicago, China and India.

Mexico has made significant advances in green building over the past few years. It has more than 300 LEED-certified and over 660 LEED-registered projects, and appeared on the U.S. Green Building Council’s (USGBC) annual “Top 10 Countries and Regions for LEED” list for the first time in 2017.

Greenbuild Mexico is presented by the USGBC and SUMe Sustentabilidad para Mexico A.C.
