PITTSBURGH, December 17, 2025 – BirdSmart^® Bird Safe Glass, Vitro’s bird-friendly glazing featuring first-surface laser etched patterns with a Solarban^® solar control, low-e coating on the second surface, has been recognized in Building Design+Construction's (BD+C) 75 Top Building Products Awards for 2025.

The jury for this year’s awards consisted of 11 AEC professionals and three BD+C editors. The core evaluation criteria were centered on the product's capacity for innovation and its practical, overall utility to the industry, highlighting its value and forward-thinking design. BD+C received over 140 submissions.

Launched in March of 2025, BirdSmart^® glass improves visibility for birds while maintaining sleek, modern aesthetics and high energy efficiency. It delivers optimal Visible Light Transmittance (VLT) and Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC) without sacrificing performance or style.

BirdSmart^® glass is available in 6mm thickness with four laser-etched dot patterns (2x2 square, 2x4 rectangle, 2x4 diamond and 2x2 diamond) with directional and non-directional orientation. It can be applied to clear, Acuity^® and Starphire^® low-iron glasses and paired with Solarban^® 65, Solarban^® 70 and Solarban^® 72 glasses on the second surface.
