Developed based on 30 years of experience manufacturing Starphire Ultra-Clear^® glass, Acuity^® glass is produced utilizing proprietary low-iron materials and processes. Designed specifically for exterior vision glazing applications, Acuity^® low-iron glass serves as a substrate for Solarban^® low-e coatings and is 60% less green than standard "clear" glass. It is suitable for all lites in an insulating glass unit (IGU) or laminated configuration, offering exceptional performance and optimal aesthetics for a fraction of the total installed façade cost. 

For configurations that require exposed edges, such as interior applications, Vitro recommends Starphire Ultra-Clear^® low-iron glass, known for its distinctive azure blue edge and exceptional clarity. Starphire^® glass is 87% less green than standard "clear" glass and can also be paired with Solarban^® low-e coatings. 

All configurations include uncoated Acuity^® glass as the interior lite. Available coatings include:

Applications

In addition to office buildings, institutions, hotels and schools, Solarban^® Acuity^® glass can be specified for exterior applications from luxury condominiums and mixed-use buildings to entrances and storefronts. Solarban^® Acuity^® glass is also ideal for distinctive exterior applications such as atriums, skylights and spandrel glass.

Fabrication & Availability

Acuity^® glass is available in 6 mm, 8 mm and 10 mm thicknesses. Solarban^® Acuity^® glass is stocked at all Vitro facilities for immediate shipment with the same lead time as all Solarban^® glass products. All Solarban^® solar control low‑e glasses are available through the Vitro Certified^® Network.
