PITTSBURGH, May 21, 2026 – Vitro Architectural Glass, alongside the Pittsburgh Steelers, marked the unveiling of the team’s newly redesigned trophy room with a special ribbon-cutting ceremony. Showcasing all six Lombardi Trophies, the upgraded space features Starphire Ultra-Clear® glass donated by Vitro, offering true-to-life views while ensuring optimal protection for the team’s championship legacy.

Starphire Ultra-Clear® glass is trusted to protect some of America’s most iconic documents, including the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence, and now, it safeguards the Steelers’ trophy room, and each of the team’s six Lombardi Trophies,” said Ricardo Maiz, President of Vitro Architectural Glass. “As a proud partner of the Steelers, we wanted to deliver unmatched clarity and protection of the moments that define Steelers history.”

The Vitro–Steelers partnership began in 2024, with Vitro becoming the team’s first Mexico-based partner through the NFL’s Global Markets Program. With nearly eight million fans in Mexico, the Steelers boast one of the largest fanbases in Mexico among NFL teams.

The partnership is united by a shared history of grit, innovation and resilience, and a connection rooted in Pittsburgh, where Vitro Architectural Glass (formerly PPG Glass) was founded in 1883. Today, Vitro continues to advance the industry with low embodied carbon, energy-efficient glass solutions, backed by its world-class research and development center, still headquartered in Pittsburgh.

“Just north of Pittsburgh, our research & development teams at our Glass Technology Center are constantly pushing the boundaries of performance, driven by the same commitment to improvement that defines the Steelers,” said Fernando Diez, Vitro’s Vice President of Marketing, Innovation & New Business Development. “That relentless pursuit of better is what led to the creation of Starphire Ultra-Clear® glass nearly 40 years ago at our facility, and today, it continues to exemplify how innovation and dedication can elevate performance and protect the Steelers’ storied history.”

With exceptional clarity and brilliance, Starphire Ultra-Clear® glass by Vitro is the premier low-iron glass for interior, exterior and safety applications. It delivers unparalleled transparency and color fidelity, 87% less green than ordinary “clear” glass, with vibrant aesthetics that redefine visual excellence and create bright, dynamic spaces. Starphire Ultra-Clear® glass can be combined with Vitro’s full range of Solarban® solar control low-e and reflective low-e glasses to achieve enhanced performance across a variety of glazing applications.
