Vitro to highlight architectural, automotive, container glass solutions at glasstec 2018
North America’s largest glass company to showcase proven, innovative products and technologies
PITTSBURGH, September 14, 2018 — Vitro S.A.B. de C.V., North America’s largest glass producer, will highlight its full range of architectural, automotive, and container glass products and technologies at glasstec 2018, the international trade fair for glass, in Düsseldorf, Germany, Oct. 23-26.
For the architectural glass market, Vitro will present Solarban® 90 glass, the industry’s first quad-silver-coated solar control low-emissivity (low-e) glass. Visitors also will be able to view samples of advanced vision glass products such as Starphire Ultra-Clear® glass, Sungate® passive low-e glass and other select brands in the Solarban® glass line.
Because of their ability to manage solar heat gain and transmit high levels of sunlight, Vitro Architectural Glass products are specified extensively by architects worldwide to manage energy use in commercial buildings while expanding their aesthetic options.
They will be showcased along with samples of specialty glass products from the Pavia® line of acid-etched glasses, the Platia® line of mirrored glasses, and highly transparent, ultra-durable Clarvista® glass for shower doors and partitions.
Vitro Architectural Glass staff also will be available to answer questions about the company’s new jumbo magnetron sputtered vacuum deposition (MSVD) coater in Wichita Falls, Texas. The unit, which is the largest vacuum-temperable MSVD coater in North America, expands Vitro’s ability to produce high-performance architectural glasses for today’s complex façades.
Among the advances Vitro will display for automotive original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) are the family of parts, including those with WeatherMaster® heated windshield technology, that it developed exclusively for a globally recognized luxury vehicle.
Other Vitro automotive glass brands on display will include Sungate® infrared-reflective windshields and Safe & Sound® laminated glass. These products have been trusted for decades by leading global automotive OEMs to improve fuel-efficiency, promote passenger comfort and safety, and enhance vehicle design. Representatives of Vitro’s automotive glass business also will be available to discuss how they help OEMs engineer total glass solutions for their automobiles, from initial concepting to finished design.
As a top global producer of decorative and safety glass containers for perfume, cosmetics and pharmaceutical packaging, Vitro will demonstrate an extensive array of custom bottle shapes, sizes and designs for customers in those industries.
